Mr. Ossont is a graduate of Valley View High School and attended Moravian College from 2003-2007 where he achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Mr. Ossont attended the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law with a concentration in Litigation, and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree in 2010. He began his career at the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office as a certified legal intern in the spring of 2010 doing research, writing and gaining courtroom experience.
Mr. Ossont served as a law clerk to the Honorable Vito P. Geroulo, Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas Judge, but would return to the District Attorney’s office as an Assistant District Attorney in 2012 in the DUI Unit. Later that year, Mr. Ossont began prosecuting cases in the Narcotics Unit. Since that time, he has prosecuted DUI cases, arson cases, narcotics cases, illegal firearms cases, gang related cases and murder cases.
In July of 2014, Mr. Ossont was appointed as the Assistant District Attorney – Special Prosecutor of both the Northeastern Pennsylvania Auto Theft and Northeastern Pennsylvania Insurance Fraud Task Forces, focusing on the prosecution of auto theft and insurance fraud cases in 11 counties in the northeastern part of the Commonwealth.
Most recently, in April of 2016, Mr. Ossont returned to the Narcotics Unit where he was appointed Deputy District Attorney and serves as the chief prosecutor in the Narcotics Unit. Along with two other attorneys, Mr. Ossont oversees the investigation and prosecution of all felony drug related crimes in Lackawanna County. In doing so, Mr. Ossont works closely with the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office Detectives assigned to the Narcotics Unit and the Lackawanna United Drug Enforcement Taskforce (L.U.D.E.T.). Mr. Ossont also serves as a liaison to the Lackawanna County S.W.A.T. team.
Mr. Ossont resides in Lackawanna County with his wife.
