The Northeastern Pennsylvania Fraud Task Force came into existence in February 1997 after Pennsylvania Legislation was passed funding the unit.

The Unit identifies, aggressively investigates and prosecutes individuals and corporations that commit insurance fraud in an 11 county area in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The Unit works closely with local and state police agencies, insurance company investigation units, and private citizens that help identify anyone involved in insurance fraud.

The unit consists of one full-time Deputy District Attorney, three full-time detectives, numerous part-time detectives and a great support staff. Our Units cover the following counties: Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wyoming, Monroe, Pike, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Bradford, Carbon, Columbia and Wayne Counties.
